Residents will have noticed the delivery of green wheelie bins in their backcourt from Glasgow City Council as part of their Bin Replacement Programme.
As the wheeled bins are taller than the ash bins, they will not fit into bin chambers, and as a temporary measure will be left outside the bin chamber.
The Association has started on a project to remove the concrete roof plinths and dividing walls within bin chambers to accommodate the new wheeled bins.
Due to the scale of this project throughout the estate, the timescale will be between April 2019 – March 2020. These works will take 2-3 days, weather permitting, to complete. The bin chamber will be fenced off during this period, with the wheeled bins being located outside the safety fencing for continued household use. There will be no charge to residents for this work.
Glasgow City Council will continue to be responsible for presenting and returning the wheeled bins to backcourts.
