Bins and bulk waste removal

With Glasgow City Council (GCC) bin collectors and street cleaners having been on strike at the start of November, we have received a lot of reports of bin bags and bulk waste lying in back courts and streets.  While GCC’s collections of normal rubbish have now re-started, they will only remove what is in the bins, not all of the extra bags and other items that have built up during this time.

While Cadder Housing Association cannot of course offer a full waste collection service we do want to step in to make sure that our back courts and streets are cleared, to help reduce the risk of vermin and to make things look better for our residents.

We have therefore decided to have our Estates Team focus on rubbish and bulk removal all of this week.  This will be in place of the usual close cleaning.

We realise that close cleaning is also important, however with our limited resources we believe that taking one week to improve the health and safety standards of our back courts and streets is the best way forward.

Our Estates Team will be working their way around the Cadder area throughout the week so please bear with us.   However if you have significant concerns during this time, please contact us by calling 0141 945 3282 or emailing Enquiry@cadderhousing.co.uk
